Built for calm

Why a den.

Some dogs have a crate. Yours has a den.

Because calm is easier to find when it already has a place.

A crate creates a clear boundary for settling, sleep, and safe pauses while the house moves around them. Koja builds on that foundation with familiar cues, calming sound, and one routine every caregiver can repeat.

The doorbell

Turn the doorbell from a trigger into a cue.

AKC training guidance recommends teaching the doorbell itself to cue “go to place.” Koja gives that cue one consistent destination—and rewards the calm response immediately.

Fireworks + storms

Give loud nights a plan before the first boom.

The RSPCA recommends preparing a safe retreat before fireworks. Koja lets you share your calming voice or play research-informed calming music, making loud moments feel more familiar.

Every caregiver

Consistency protects the routine.

Puppies need substantial, protected sleep. A 2024 longitudinal study associated early rest and positive experiences in an enclosed sleep space with fewer separation-related behaviors later in puppyhood. Koja helps every caregiver repeat the same sleep, settle, and reward routine.

Pale oak softens the frame. Satin bronze catches the light. Matte black lets the technology recede. Every finish earns its place in the room.

FAQ

Before they move in.

How do you say Koja?

KO-jah — a hard J, as in jam. Koja is the Swedish word for the hideout a child builds out of blankets and chairs: a small, safe place of their own making. That is the whole idea, built properly.

Do I need the app subscription?

The camera, two-way audio, and urgent safety alerts work with the free tier, always. The full training system — anxiety score, sleep tracking, potty analytics, multi-user logging — is part of Koja App. You get 3 months free, then it’s $14.99/mo. Cancel anytime.

What dogs does it fit?

Koja launches in one standard Medium size, comfortable for dogs up to about 40 lbs — from puppies through adulthood. Larger sizes are on the roadmap. Reserve now and we’ll keep you posted as they’re confirmed.

What about privacy?

The camera is built into the back of the den and framed on its interior—not across your room. Koja is being designed around encrypted video, required multi-factor sign-in, household-controlled permissions, and clear recording and retention choices. We’ll publish the complete security architecture before orders open.

Does Koja arrive assembled?

No. Koja will arrive in a small number of protected components for guided home assembly. Final assembly time and tool requirements will be confirmed before orders open.

Can my dog chew the Tech Bar?

No. The Tech Bar is centered on the solid back wall, behind a flush, chew-resistant face. There are no exposed cables or bolt-on parts inside the den.

What happens if Wi-Fi goes out?

Local climate monitoring continues. The app reconnects automatically when service returns and makes the outage visible, so a missing signal never looks like an all-clear.

Is the mat washable?

Yes. The fitted cream bouclé cover removes for washing. The interior platform wipes clean.

Why we built it

“I slept on the floor. I moved her crate next to my bed. Then I duct-taped a Ring camera to the top of it — and spent all night being told someone was at my door.”

Koja began with one hand through the crate and the distance between being there and knowing she was okay. The point was never to put another camera in the room. It was to make care feel closer—and finally get some sleep.
